F.A.Z.-Institut and Prognos honor cabling expert for its extraordinary product developments

Augsburg, January 19, 2021 – Rosenberger Optical Solutions & Infrastructure (Rosenberger OSI), manufacturer of innovative fiber optic cabling infrastructures and service provider for critical infrastructures, was awarded a prize in the study "Digital Innovation Leaders in Germany 2020" conducted by the F.A.Z.-Institut in November 2020 among 150,000 companies examined. The cabling specialist received the certificate for its submitted patents in the field of fiber optic infrastructure. “The award is a confirmation that we have done many things properly in the past and it is the perfect complement to our 30th anniversary, which we will celebrate in 2021. On this occasion, we are launching a large-scale digitization offensive 2025, which will make our business processes significantly more efficient and create new innovative business models. With our anniversary, we are embarking on a journey to the company of the future,” comments Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director of Rosenberger OSI, on the award of the certificate.

From German cabling assembler to global integrated solution provider

Rosenberger OSI celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021 and can now look back on numerous milestones in the company's history. Rosenberger OSI started out as a German assembly company and today has international production facilities in Hungary and Mexico, sales offices in Italy, France and Spain and has established itself as a global expert for innovative cabling infrastructure and services. Thanks to a complete digitalization of the company's internal business processes (KOMPASS project), which was completed years ago, the company is able to supply its customers without any problems even during the Corona pandemic. Rosenberger OSI enjoyed extraordinary growth in times of the pandemic.

Comprehensive service and satisfied customers

The restructured service also ensures satisfied OSI customers. This is based on the five pillars of data center planning and consulting, data center operation, managed services, installation services and consulting services. With this package, customers receive all services for a future-oriented network infrastructure from one source in the form of a "one-stop-shop".

Award for innovative spirit

As a pioneer in the development of the MTP®/MPO module cassette, Rosenberger OSI provided many innovations and established itself as a trendsetter in the parallel optics segment. An outstanding development is the PreCONNECT® SEDECIM cabling system, which was introduced in 2020. It is based on the 16-fiber MTP®/MPO connector. Rosenberger OSI has now received the "Digital Innovation Leader" certificate from the F.A.Z.-Institut for the numerous patents submitted. On behalf of the F.A.Z. Institute and in cooperation with the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research, the economic research company Prognos examined around 150,000 companies for their innovative ability. This analysis is based on the patenting activities of the companies and research institutions using data from the EPO Worldwide Patent Statistical Database, (PATSTAT) of the European Patent Office. The award underlines that Rosenberger OSI is not satisfied with what has been achieved so far, but is continuously working on further optimizing processes, products and services.

Digitalization Offensive until 2025

Based on this and in the context of the 30th anniversary, the following innovations are planned from 2021: A new solution in the LAN environment, the further expansion of the service portfolio, the expansion of sales activities in Spain and the large-scale digitization offensive. “By 2025, our aim is to increase not only corporate efficiency but also competitiveness. To this end, we are optimizing our response times in corresponding processes, so that our innovation cycles are further shortened and thus lead to further unique product developments,” says CEO Thomas Schmidt, looking ahead.
