PreCONNECT® PURE: reliable planning of data center cabling 

PreCONNECT® PURE is a milestone in the development of high-end IT cabling for data centers. It eliminates two uncertainty factors that are critical to overall performance in day-to-day operations:

Uncertainty factor contamination
By their very nature, the optical contacts integrated in PURE interfaces make it impossible for contamination or damage to occur during installation. The LC-Duplex interface is sealed at the factory. You just snap it into the back of the front panel.

Uncertainty factor loss budget
PURE connectors have an extremely low, guaranteed insertion loss – not just in each-to-each tests, but in real-world applications. This gives you certainty in the planning of transmission paths and allows you to implement more connections per channel.  

Fields of application of the high-performance cabling system are infrastructure cabling and IT room cabling in data centers.

* In relation to 1.0 dB Insertion loss, a channel length of 150 m and a loss budget of 1.54 dB according to original Fibre Channel 16 Gbit/s OM4 specification.

Properties of the different systems

PreCONNECT® PURE LCC:

PreCONNECT® PURE LCC is a closed system, composed of PURE LCC Trunks and Patchcords. 

To achieve their high quality and that we can guarantee the specified values, only personnel who is PURE qualified and certified by us is allowed to install and patch PURE LCC Trunks and Patchcords.

Manufacturers of cabling components usually specify “production limit values“, measured in reference adapters against reference connectors according to IEC 61300-3-4. 
Such „production limit values“ cannot be used for planning transmission links, hence “application connections” are “random mated” connections of serial quality connectors in serial quality adapters. Insertion loss of „random mated“ connections is measured according to IEC 61300-3-34. 

The insertion losses of “application connections” have statistical normal distribution with maximum values higher than the “production limit values”. According to IEC 61300-3-34, the average (mean) of our LC Multimode 50μm OM2, OM3, OM4 LoIL connections is only 0.07 dB. It would be too optimistic to plan with this very low value, because the measurement method is a laboratory test and it does not include all kinds of „outlier values“ neither the environmental influences and adversities in the application. Nevertheless, let your manufacturer guarantee and verify the parameter of quality, the average insertion loss, acc. to IEC 61300-3-34.

For a safe planning of transmission links you depend on the guaranteed „application limit value“ from your manufacturer. This is the value the connections mated by patching of a transmission channel do not exceed. 

Therefore, it is required that all connectors and adapters are from this manufacturer and that the connectors are undamaged, clean and mated professionally. IEC 61755-5 Ed. 1.0 CD specifies the „application limit values“ with their grades for 50µm multimode connections.

The specificity about PreCONNECT® PURE LCC are the factory assembled LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces on both sides of the trunk, for these we guarantee the so-called „application-value“ for random mated connections in operation with our PURE LCC patchcords. 

Our PURE quality at 50µm multimode is, due to insertion and return loss, higher than the in IEC 61755-5 Ed. 1.0 CD highest specified class grade Cm and conform at singlemode to the highest specified grade B of IEC 61755-2-1 und -2. 
Due to the visual quality of polished connector surfaces, our PURE quality is better than specified in IEC 61300-3-35. For this, see the comparative tables at the product information. 

The optical contacts integrated in LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces of the trunks cannot be soiled and damaged at the installation, by easily clicking them from behind into the front plates of the panels.

 

PreCONNECT® PURE MTP®:

Our motivation for the development of PreCONNECT® PURE MTP® is the consequent further development of our PreCONNECT® PURE portfolio. 

The fast growing volume of 40 and 100BASE-SR4, 100G PSM4 and 4x16G and 4x32G Fibre Channel Transceivers with MPO connector interface leads to even strongly rising demand on attachment cables with MTP® (MPO) connectors.

The particular about PreCONNECT® PURE MTP® is the factory assembled MTP® adapter-interfaces on both sides of the trunks, for these we guarantee the so-called „application-value“ for random mated connections in operation with our PURE MTP® Patchcords and Harnesses.

The optical contacts integrated in MTP® adapter-interfaces of the Trunks can`t be soiled and damaged at the installation, by easily clicking them from behind into the front plates of the panels. The MTP® adapter-interfaces conform to IEC 61754-7, are equipped with protective plugs and assured with sealing tag against unauthorized use. These sealing tags may only be opened by PURE certified personnel.
