PreCONNECT® isoNET, flexNET and smartNET set new standards for work processes in the office environment, in manufacturing and in building management
Augsburg, March 10, 2021 – Rosenberger Optical Solutions & Infrastructure (Rosenberger OSI), expert in fiber-based connectivity, cabling solutions and infrastructure services, has restructured its LAN portfolio, presenting three innovative and future-oriented solutions for building and office cabling. The focus is on the PreCONNECT® smartNET cabling system, which offers the option of dynamically expanding bandwidth and individually allocating data rates within a building on a departmental or process basis. This is complemented by the PreCONNECT® isoNET solution, which is based on the hardware side on a one and two-sided pre-assembly of the cables as well as a cabling design by experts. PreCONNECT® flexNET as an extension of PreCONNECT® isoNET rounds off the new portfolio: The system provides additional flexibility by interposing a passive copper consolidation point in the tertiary area.
Today, digital transformation has become an important factor in building automation and especially in the office environment in order to remain competitive and present oneself as an attractive employer. Hence, Working World 4.0 and Smart Working require maximum flexibility and adaptability from the LAN network. In order to meet the constantly growing performance requirements, the building cabling in particular must also be adapted. After all, efficient cabling is the physical basis for high-speed applications in the office and building cabling sector.
PreCONNECT® smartNET: Highest flexibility, individually adaptable and future-proof
Rosenberger OSI has completely relaunched its LAN portfolio based on the increased requirements and presents three innovative solutions: The network solution with the highest flexibility level is PreCONNECT® smartNET. The cabling system ensures a high degree of adaptability in the spatial design of workstations. It also offers the option of dynamically expanding bandwidth and individually allocating data rates within a building on a departmental or process basis. The network solution can thus adapt to existing building, IT and process structures and grow with the company.
The cabling system also scores points for its excellent cost-effectiveness. Thanks to the intelligent concept, tertiary copper cable lengths can be reduced to a minimum (approx. 25 meters), thus saving considerable costs. This is made possible by the use of a passive fiber optic consolidation point in the secondary area, which brings the future-proof fiber optic technology closer to the end user.
Further cost reducing potential is offered by so-called office distributors (OD), which are connected to the passive consolidation point in the tertiary area either in a star or ring configuration and, as distributed systems, replace the classic centralized floor distributors. While a separate room is required for the large distribution units, the office distributors can be mounted in the raised floor, in the ceiling area or on the walls and can be integrated into any working environment without requiring additional space.
PreCONNECT® isoNET: Conventional networking, modular, easy and quick to install
On the hardware side, the isoNET solution is based on a one and two-sided pre-assembly of the cables as well as a foresighted network planning and installation by experts from Rosenberger OSI or qualified partners on site. This results in valuable cost and time savings and significantly increases efficiency.
The innovative focus of the solution is on the future-oriented fiber optic technology, as it offers "virtually unlimited transmission capacities". However, it is only one component of PreCONNECT® isoNET. Copper technology still plays an important role in building cabling. In addition to the time savings due to the pre-assembled data lines, the standard-compliant network solution offers the advantage of low administrative effort, since active components are centralized in the floor distributors.
PreCONNECT® flexNET: Classically structured cabling with increased flexibility
The third network solution as an extension of PreCONNECT® isoNET provides even more versatility in the spatial design of workstations. This is achieved by interposing a passive copper consolidation point in the tertiary area. The great advantage here is that new end-user connections can be easily connected to the passive consolidation point and existing workstations can be relocated. Extensions and restructuring can be carried out without disrupting ongoing operations. PreCONNECT® flexNET thus perfectly meets the requirements of increasingly dynamic work processes in the office environment, in manufacturing and in building management.
