Fiber Optic Connectors

RDC (Rosenberger Duplex Connector)

The RDC (Rosenberger Duplex Connector) with 2 optical fibers is a robust screw locking connector system for use in harsh environments. When mated, the connector and coupler are sealed to EN 60529 IP67.
APC polishing (8Β°) of the ferrules is available for high return loss (testable from 3 meters). Dust caps available in a variety of styles and designs.

Features

  • Different connector variants: Male, female, receptacle - in Singlemode PC and APC variants
  • Multimode Low IL
  • Very good IL and RL performance values thanks to high-precision components
  • Robust protective caps for reliable installation on site
  • High IP67 ingress protection when inserted or locked
  • In the future, this will also be extended to IP68
  • High mechanical stability
  • 500 mating cycles and adaptation to different cable types and diameters
  • Operating temperatures from -40Β°C to +85Β°

Benefits

  • When inserted, these fiber contacts form a physical front contact and ensure that the optical fibers are optimally aligned
  • The use of high-precision ceramic contacts and centering sleeves for optimum, low-loss signal transmission.
  • Robust design which means they keep on working even in extreme weather conditions
  • The waterproof construction of the connector and receptacle provides protection against rain, moisture, dust, dirt, snow or ice

Applications

  • Cabling for wireless networks or in antenna technology in the telecommunications field
  • Infrastructures for industrial automation
  • Rail technology
  • Energy supply applications, for example for offshore wind plants
  • In safety systems
  • Broadcasting
