A new Avacon data center has been constructed out in the countryside close to Hanover. The available space is gradually being put into service and equipment is being installed. Because it was not possible to forecast customersโ concrete requirements or the equipment needed in the colocation cages in advance, a bespoke cabling concept from Rosenberger OSI was used for the entire passive infrastructure. This can be extended easily and cost-efficiently and permits versatile adaptation to a wide range of use cases.
The Avacon Group is one of Germanyโs largest regional energy supply companies and a partner for regional energy solutions in the fields of electricity, gas, water, heating, refrigeration, mobility and lighting. Furthermore, the subsidiary Avacon Connect in the states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt operates broadband fiber optic networks for Internet and telecommunications services. Last year, the Group further extended the range of services it offers to include a colocation data center. This was constructed at a site in Sehnde on the outskirts of Hanover in collaboration with the telecommunications provider envia TEL, a subsidiary of the East German energy service provider Envia Mitteldeutsche Energie (enviaM) and part of the EON Group.
