Vlog #21 The biggest challenges in the service sector for data centres

OSI Insights in our video-blog

The global data volume is growing rapidly nowadays. One of the major drivers of this development is artificial intelligence and its applications. And consequently, the demand for data center capacities is rising. On the other hand, data centers are facing massive challenges right now. Challenges like optimization of operational costs, environmental aspects, and a lack of qualified people.

In conversation: Gerald Berg, Process Manager Sales & Marketing and Samuel Premkumar, Manager Strategic Groth & Operations Europe Service at Rosenberger OSI.

Here, we place the focus on: Short term projects, Managed Services

Rosenberger OSI is active in services for quite a while. Can you give us a short outline of which services Rosenberger OSI can offer to the customers?

Samuel Premkumar: Sure. So we have basically to make it also easier and more approachable. We have divided it in two general offerings. One is short term services and one is mid term to long term services. Now, what we mean by this is short term services, are mainly clustered around AI installations, AI endeavors on a hardware level and mid term to long term is anything that would be over a lifecycle, meaning, running a data center, taking over operations and operations management for a data center.

Concerning this project, this short term project, it's not only AI, it's also other projects which we have the customer in realizing?

Samuel Premkumar: Yes, absolutely. Anything that is cost intensive will need, transformation, refitting, for example, in data centers where there is a big focus commercially, but also from a strategic point. This is coming in support.

Okay. You mentioned costs. That leads me to another question. What is important for the customer nowadays is also planning and a reliable budgetaring process? On the other hand, the customer expects flexibility and reactivity. Which USPโ€™s can we offer in this case to the customer?

Samuel Premkumar: Well, in terms of services and how we approach our clients, we have our strengths in the project management and its methodology, where we can help execute for our client, for multiple geographies, where we take over the whole part of planning and executing on site, depending on the client's requirements.

So in this case, it's a wide portfolio. If I summarize that in a correct way, starting from short term projects to managed services. Is there anything else the customer can benefit from?

Samuel Premkumar: Well, the flexibility in the sense that our services are agnostic. What we mean by that is we do not expect our clients to buy our products. Our approach to services is we look at the challenges, we try to understand the challenges our client has and provide solutions.Seeing, putting our client in and at the forefront of this.

So there is no perspective to mandatory approach to have products from Rosenberger. But, in a second step. We do have to know how of being a manufacturer?

Samuel Premkumar: Yeah. Okay. So it's really a holistic portfolio. The customer can choose from in the end.

Do you have a project that you need support with? Then talk to us: Get in touch.
