18 - 19, September 2023 | VILCO, Bad Vilbel
Cover sustainability reqs and meet high resiliency targets in one: law vs. standards?
In 2008 under the EU directive critical infrastructure rules were initially defined and published. The IT and DataCenter infrastructure since then evolved into a key part and essential regulation topic for this directive and derived law. As well national catalogues outlining and capturing IT related requirements were discussed, submitted and finally set to active. In Germany this resulted in the “Kritis-Verordnung” which needs to be obeyed by roughly 1.500 companies or corporate entities. Looking back the past decade we as well find requirements based on EU directives which focus on sustainability and ethical and social aspects.
Don't miss the presentation of Matthias Reidans, Senior Project Manager, Services:
Stability vs Sustainability: EN50600 & ESG, two devils meet in the critical-infrastructure warroom
- Regulation impacts the DataCenter sector in multiple aspects. Operator of critical infrastructure need to ensure technical and organisational measures are taken “on an appropriate level” and are due with revalidation every two years
- Upcoming in 2024 the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and valid since March 2021 the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation are creating the two pillars for the ESG
- Following the EN50600 DataCenter are built to achieve high levels of redundancy but at cost of environmental consumption! Priorities needs to be balanced carefully while strict laws set new bars
