Augsburg, 28. September 2017 – Rosenberger Optical Solutions & Infrastructure (Rosenberger OSI), manufacturer of innovative cabling infrastructures based on fiber optics, is now presenting its PerCONNECT® solution portfolio for efficient cabling infrastructure management in buildings. With regard to hardware, the Rosenberger OSI solution is based on a one-sided prefabrication of the cables, forward- looking network planning, and rapid on-site installation by experts and qualified partners. “With our innovative LAN portfolio, valuable cost and time savings can be achieved and efficiency is increased significantly. The goal is to also use our high-performance optical fiber and copper-based solutions for end users,” explains Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director of Rosenberger OSI.
The increasing importance of bandwidth for today's applications, the expected developments for the upcoming years, and the constant convergence of the various sectors within IT have prompted Rosenberger OSI to start offering its experience as a specialist for data center infrastructure solutions and high-speed applications also to the office and building cabling sector.
Modern system solution for buildings and offices
Under the name of PerCONNECT®, Rosenberger OSI offers a complete solution portfolio for effective and modern building cabling: Within the scope of this solution, one-sided prefabricated fiber optic solutions and copper-based cables are offered, although the innovative focus is placed on optical fiber. “The reason is that optical fiber technology has virtually unlimited transmission capacities and is therefore absolutely future-proof. Only the last few meters to the end user are made of copper,” says the managing director. As a result of this, the optical fiber backbone, which only needs to be laid once, can provide the flexible performance needed by the supply infrastructure of a building complex for many years to come.
In line with the slogan “keep it simple, but smart,” Rosenberger OSI’s expert team for building cabling relies on operational flexibility, modularity and, thanks to the one-sided prefabricated products, simple, quick installation, all of which guarantee high performance.
Efficient, cost-effective and future-proof: PerCONNECT® from Rosenberger OSI
In operations, the cabling design for a project is defined in advance and on-site by Rosenberger OSI’s in-house specialists or qualified experts, so that time and cost savings can be achieved. Rosenberger OSI relies on one-sided prefabricated products for optical fiber cables, simplifying installation on-site. PerCONNECT®’s portfolio is also characterized by diameter-reduced and gel-free cables for fiber optics, which considerably simplifies on-site splicing. The reduction in diameter also leads to a considerable reduction in the fire load (at least 15%), which provides a lot more certainty for the future, as the strain on the cable ducts is reduced and the removal options are significantly improved. Cables are also available in class B2 (CPR) – currently the highest fire protection class. If MTP® connection cables are also used, fitting activities can also be reduced enormously. For floor wiring, Rosenberger OSI uses a copper-based solution, both in the prefabricated version and in the component form.
Comprehensive service throughout the project
In addition to supplying cabling solutions, Rosenberger OSI’s in-house experts or suitably qualified local partners can also look after the planning and installation activities for office and building cabling. “Our service teams also prepare documentation for the transfer and acceptance meetings and support the infrastructure according to maintenance agreements that cover the entire lifetime of the network,” explains Mr. Schmidt. If existing cabling is no longer state-of-the-art, a modernization of the networks can be carried out in the form of a “revitalization” project. “A redesign is not always necessary. In line with our strategy, we often recommend smaller adaptations that are often completely sufficient for the efficient, continued operation of a data infrastructure,” said the Managing Director in closing.
